Despite the forecast of low temperatures overnight (and therefore the risk of icy road conditions) I am hoping that the salt spreading will have the desired effect. It is my intention to open school on Tuesday.
Your child should wear school uniform but please ensure that they are dressed appropriately for the weather especially in terms of footwear. Wellies are the best option (your child will change into his/her plimsolls for indoors). If you do not have wellies, please ensure your child wears sturdy school shoes (waterproof wherever possible) as I do not want children sitting in discomfort in wet socks. (Please pack a pair of spare socks if possible).
Please also ensure that your child wears a coat to school (and check that your child’s coat is named as we are starting to accumulate a number of unnamed items). Thank you.
Please do not arrive at school before 8:45am. On arrival at school (at that time), your child should go directly to class. We shall try to clear paths on the site, but this will take time and the area may be mucky due to gritting. I would like to keep the classrooms as clean as possible
If you are concerned about driving at peak time, we shall apply common sense and keep the registers open longer (until 9:45am). You will not be registered as late on this occasion. Please enter the school by the main entrance if you arrive after the bell has gone so that we update the attendance and lunch registers.
Please note that the infant nativity, due to take place on Tuesday evening, will happen as scheduled (barring any further meteorological interference) – 6pm prompt start. We hope to reschedule today’s performance (for next Monday December 18th at 1:30pm). I shall confirm this once we are back at school so keep on the look out for parentmails and messages on the school website.
Thank you all for your patience in these matters
