Year 6 swimming competency
Percentage of children within our 2019-2020 Year 6 cohort that can do each of the following:
- Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres: 83.8% ( 26/31)
- Use a range of strokes effectively: 83.8 % ( 26/31)
Schools can choose to use the Primary PE and Sport Premium to provide additional provision for swimming but this must be for activity over and above the national curriculum requirements. Additional sessions are usually provided in the summer term, although that did not happen this year due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Children at Arnett Hills School attend swimming lessons when they are in Years 3,4,5 and 6 at the “Everyone Active” William Penn Leisure Centre.
