The children have been having fun with maths this week for national maths week. They’ve taken on lateral thinking challenges within lessons, taken maths outdoors and used games to secure learning to demonstrate the practical application of maths in our lives.

Year 4 with Miss Armstrong – February 2020
Children explored how and why we need to be careful when using the internet. We discussed what to do if we see something inappropriate, including seeing or receiving unkind messages. Groups were given scenarios to act out and present to explain how they should approach the situation.

January 2020
This term, Y4 are exploring humans including animals. This week, we have been exploring the effects of different drinks on our teeth. To investigate this, we observed the change of appearance and texture of egg shells after they’d spent a night of soaking in the liquid. Here are the children’s’ observations and some photos of the exciting experiment.

Year 3 have had a very exciting Spring term so far. We have dived into the history of pre-historic Britain and will be producing cave paintings of our own.
In addition to this we have just finished writing our own alternative fairy tales based on the story of Goldilocks and the three bears. Finally, Tuesday was Environmental day. We took part in a competitive quiz about recycling and produced beautiful pieces of art work to show what pledge we are willing to make to care for our earth. These will be on display shortly.
