English – This week in English we are focusing on adding suffixes to words to change there meaning.
It will be beneficial to go over what a verb and noun is. We have a song to help remember (hopefully your child will remember the tune)

An adjective describes it,
A verb is something you can do,
And adverb tells you how to.

The things you will need will be dropped to your door if you have not come back to school. Have a look through the instructions to help with planting. Please read through the PowerPoint to support the learning. There is also a diary that you can write in to help you keep track of your plants growth.
This week we will be looking at the book ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. Our first lesson will be a prediction (sensible guess) of the story. Can you look at the pictures to help you see Max’s emotions, use these to help your prediction. Your child may want to discuss this with you like we might do in class and then write it out. Online version of book
After you have read the story there is a book review to fill out. It looks at settings, characters and what happens in the story. You also have a chance to rate the book.

WORK SET PRIOR TO EASTER HOLIDAYS BELOW
Work for week of 23rd March – Letter from Miss Nutt
Creative writing – choose one of the prompts from this set to do each day. Remember to sit at a table and have a sharp pencil, as it helps keep your writing neat. Also remember; what do you need to use to start a sentence, between words and at the end of the sentence. Ask whoever is helping you for key word spellings and make your own word mats with them on so you can use another time. Talk to them about your ideas first if it helps, then have a go on your own. Use a book, with lines on, if you can’t print the things out.
Reading – please remember that you can read a book that you already have a home or ask who ever is with you to read you a story.
Science – Lava lamp experiment
Have a lovely weekend. No peeking at the work below until next week.
